How to keep yourself motivated

People ask me how I stay motivated or how THEY can become motivated. The answer is: you motivate yourself.

If that’s unsatisfying (and it is) then it should be. Your question is stupid.

I have no pointers for an unwillingness to kick habits or dedicate to something. I don’t think any such pointers exist so anyone offering them would be dishonest. People do what they want in proportion to how much they want it. If sluggishness and sedentary time is more valuable to a person than health, strength and appearance, then that’s the choice that is going to be made regardless of motivational brain hacks, tips or tricks.

The only advice on motivation I think anyone can give in good conscience is to promote awareness about your goals. The only valid excuse is getting overwhelmed with competing interests. That part I get. But the part where you have a clear goal and then just can’t seem to find the muster to even try working towards it… eff outta here with that noise. You don’t want it bad enough. Work on acceptance of your current position instead of trying to find a shortcut on how to want something you want bad enough.

I should give motivational speeches…
