You might be less depressed if you had some kind of purpose…or something

“The tragedy in life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach.” –Benjamin Mays

Directionless and unhappy? Focus on something. a hobby, a new job – or better yet a career, etc.

Being bored and unhappy is a bad combination. Most people who suffer from it only treats the symptoms instead of the problems and the way they self medicate is getting intoxicated. Usually Le Booze but any mind alterer as a medication for boredom and unhappiness is Bad News Bears. Don’t do that ever. Or at least not more than twice a year. Only intoxicate when you’re in a good mood and happy and to add to that.

Otherwise you’ll just repeat a cycle of having nothing going on, making yourself temporarily feel better about it and then – bloop – surprise! still nothing going on the next day – which will make you sad and cause you to make yourself feel better about it by – see how this goes?…

Instead of having no goal and nothing to do in pursuit of anything except mindlessly enjoying yourself:

Have a goal. Work toward it. Enjoy yourself along the way.

You’re welcome.
