As with most insidious cultural change you go along with because you’re oblivious to the true motives behind and have accepted the hippie “tolerance” propaganda, your usage of the term “Holiday” is all wrong and should not exist.
Christmas is a holiday – religiously meaning “holy day” but secularly meaning “day of rest, reverence, and/or celebration”. Hippies hate this because at the core of hippie philosophy is a Marxist love of sameness. They call it “equality” because that is easier to sell to the public since most people don’t want most things to be the same but certainly do want most things to be equal. To achieve sameness, distinctions must be demolished and that requires massive societal change. To achieve massive societal change, traditions must be abolished and demonized. This is how the hippie leaks their poison into the hearts and minds of unsuspecting citizens. The average member of western civilization is tolerant and respectful of others, and the hippie knows that the “squeaky wheel gets the grease”. So the hippie manufactures outrage and invents new ways to be offended and slighted in order to pressure, shame, and bully society into accepting hippie doctrine it would otherwise wholly reject.
Thus, if anyone said “start ignoring the religious, secular and historical traditions and tidings of Christmas”, they would be met with the scorn and ridicule they deserve. However, when the hippie says that it is offensive to say the word “Christmas” because their fragile ears feel stabbed with victimhood and exclusion, then the average person, kind in heart as they are, acquiesce to the demand because they are not privy to the true motives behind the manufactured outrage.
And make no mistake that the outrage is 100% synthetic. Even if Christmas was an exclusively religious celebration of Jesus Christ, the earthly embodiment of the Christian Messiah, the thought that its public mention would be offensive to say is a bigoted and hateful act of exclusion, not inclusion. But Christmas isn’t exclusively religious. It is a western tradition with religious roots (primarily an invention by European Christians to create a holiday surrounding winter solstice celebrations as a marketing gimmick to attract Pagans into Christianity). It is also an American holiday, steeped in the history of our country, which is why it is a national holiday.
Wishing someone a happy “thing that a majority of the culture you’re living in is celebrating” is nothing but a positive greeting of inclusiveness.
The truth is that Christmas is unique. It is uniquely both religious and secular and it is uniquely good. And hippies hate the unique. They demand sameness. And crushing Christmas in this pursuit is a requirement to achieve that genericification.
So when you say “happy holidays” or “enjoy the holiday” or “hope you have a great holiday” instead of (as opposed to in-addition-to) “Merry Christmas”, you are not being inclusive as you probably think you are – you are participating in a targeted assault on the culture. You are helping propagate a societal shift in the direction of blandness, censorship, narrow mindedness, fake victimhood, and unnecessary ignoble shaming of a cultural aspect that unites and brings joy.
Christmas is a holiday. It is no crime to refer to it as such. However, if you replace the word “Christmas” WITH “holiday”, refusing to speakith its name, you are helping the bad guys win.
You are allowing yourself to be manipulated into a self-censorship you would never accept if it were demanded in other terms. You are helping chip away at rich and unique aspects about western culture and making it generic and bland in service to a divisive and immoral ideology based entirely on emotional appeal fallacies.
You are supporting doctrine that literally ruins society.
Absolutely, 100% right… couldn’t have said it better myself. You wouldn’t believe the sh!t they’re doing to elementary school kids nowadays… “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” is changed to “We Wish You a Happy Holiday”, and various other analogous bullsh!t. I fcking hate Marxists and how successful they have become. Christmas is being destroyed in front of our eyes.
