Thanks to the light drizzling of rain (which is an orange terror-threat level of panic for Californians) the local Apple store has AppleTV’s in stock so I can finally go pay my Mac Tax for this quarter. I’ve been calling for days and they’re always out. Today they said there were “a couple” on the shelves and sure enough the one I bought was one of two.
It’s super neato and tiny, even though I wish it was more like a mid-level Mac-Mini (DVD player/burner, hard drive space). All it can do is play whatever is in your itunes library on your computer, on your tv, plus and Netflix. There’s other stuff that exists but is just useless, like Idk why I would want youtube on my big screen but whatever – it’s good to have. Flickr will be used even less and I don’t have a MobileMe account so the inclusion in the menu is just annoying space filler. I’ll also never rent a god damn tv show. A movie, possibly, but still very doubtful. A tv show – friggin never. That’s so retarded. This $100 black box is kinda useless for me. but I love it already.
