Models, can we knock it off with the large body tattoos? christ. what are you even thinking when you get them? modeling is about being a blank palate that employers use to project THEIR expression through. when you come in with YOUR expression dyed all over you in permanent ink, it’s like you’re saying “Hi. I REALLY dont want this job. like. a lot. [outside of tat-niche shoots]”.
I tried to sneak a few through a casting session and of COURSE I got shit for wasting the time of my superiors with them. no good deed goes unpunished. all these bitches owe me oral now.
Don’t misunderstand: I totally get people with tat’s being interested in modeling. I do NOT get people actively perusing modeling, getting tatts. What exactly is the appeal to purposely limiting your opportunities by such a wide margin? The answer is of course that these people aren’t thinking of that.
UPDATE: In response to a model that protested “no we will not” and “you love me (:” and happens to have a giant tat on the side of her stomach, I say: ya, but if she were one of the chicks i was in charge of audition-managing i would have given her the same scolding speech from this post cuz id be in the same position: i want to throw these girls a bone cuz theyre qualified in every other way, but they’ve ruined themselves for most gigs and *i’m* the one who gets in trouble cuz *i’m* supposed to know better than to recommend them. well THEY’RE supposed to know better. frustrating.
I like your work its interesting very intellectual.
