The phrase “you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar” is a proverb in support of being nice to get what you want instead of being nasty to get what you want.
Really, it depends, but more people benefit from the “be sweet” advice than the “try to be sour and nasty more” angle.
Context is key. Sometimes you get more flies with honey than with vinegar. other times you lay out fly traps. other times you hunt them down and spray them with poison. You cant just go fumigating every picnic with poison though or you cause more damage than help
Sweet, harsh, tactical, nuclear option. know your battlefield.
and always start sweet. dont be so defensive. be forced into being harsh and serving tactical strikes and only use nukes as a last resort after the war is already blazing.
