What’s the deal, Potheads? You’ve gained so much cultural clout and acceptance over the past 10 years and you still haven’t done anything interesting with what should be your patron holiday. Granted, all holidays have a stoner appeal, but the number two thing everyone associates with cannabis usage (after being spacey minded and slow) is excessive eating and a large appetite.
So why no big media pushes or sketches or cultural funny things about weed and Thanksgiving? I’m sure some have done SOMEthing SOMEwhere, but thats only because everyone has done everything. I’m asking why hasn’t it been more of a thing to where its broken into the pop-culture.
I’m not disappointed about it. Just confused.
Is it the family-centric element to the event that acts as a buzzkill?
Is it that potheads are overwhelming ungrateful losers and thus Thanksgiving is against their religion, essentially?
Is it that the tryptophan in turkey combined with some seasonal Indica kush makes everyone too sleepy to do anything about the association?
Or am I overplaying the obvious connection between a food-centric holiday and marijuana?
