Despite having acres of unused land, my parents house has a detached workshop garage by the pool here that is only a car-width away from the property line with the fence. So when moving any one of his many cars, 2 trailers or the boat on the trailer, he has only a narrow space to squeeze through before it opens back up. He was rearranging cars and trailers and I was outside watching to yell back how much room he had or when he was going to hit a tree (failing only once when I was staring at my legs to allow a mosquito to land on me before swatting to ensure I smashed it whilst meanwhile the trailer backed into a tree. oops).
My sister’s car is also back there for some reason even though she can’t drive for another year or more (its the prize you get after reaching your three hundredth DUI or something) and failed to start so we could move it out of the way. I was 50 feet away from it while my dad was pulling forward with the trailer that had the 1950something truck I drove in high school on it when the rope holding it to the trailer comes loose, sending it rolling backward. The truck falls right off the trailer and comes barreling down the yard directly to my sisters car. peril – danger – omg – have no fear…
You’ll be happy to know that I caught the fkkn thing. Jumped right behind it and pushed. It kept rolling of course, but I slowed it down and it rolled to a stop with me pushing into it at 25 degrees and my heels steeped int he mud only 6 inches away from my sisters car.
Some would say it was a scene straight out of a movie. others would say that no movie could ever fathom such a selfless while physically impressive act of bravery and skill. to me however, its just another day… another day for me to casually mention it like it werent no thang when I re-entered the house where my mom was, all the while thinking “ooo, im gonna blog the shit outta this when I get back at a computer tonight, yessir”. and I did. because I believe America needs to know. I believe history.. needs to know.
