Isn’t Martin Luther King day kindov. eh. Racist? Notsomuch the concept of “hey, lets honor and celebrate a guy who saved the country from a violent civil war part 2” but more on how its practiced and how the media treats it, which is…not that. to say the least. It’s treated more as a time to “reflect” on black issues.
What am I supposed to reflect on exactly? “Hm. You know what? Black people really ARE equal to whites”? Doesn’t that seem just the teenciest bit patronizing?
It will be interesting to see how its dealt with a year from now when Barack Obama is swearing in as our next president.
